BBC iPlayer launches on Nintendo Wii on back of booming take-up

The BBC iPlayer is set to launch on the Nintendo Wii as latest figures reveal more than 42m BBC shows have been viewed via the service since its Christmas Day launch. The first-quarter figures reveal iPlayer usage grew by 25% each month, from 11.2m streams or downloads in January to 14m in February and 17.2m in March. The figures coincide with the iPlayer’s launch on the Wii through a partnership with Nintendo UK, as part of the BBC’s strategy to make the service available on all platforms.
